Wishing to fly professionally? Then you will need a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL).

HQ Aviation runs a modular commercial training course to help you achieve your goal.

To start you commercial pilot training you must hold a PPL and have logged at least 155 hours of helicopter flight time (including 50 hours pilot in command).

The CPL (H) course requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Hold a "Class 1" medical certificate
  • Hold a PPL (H)
  • Have flown at least 155 hours (Including 50 hours pilot in command)
  • Have passed relevant CPL theoretical knowledge exams 
  • Receive 35 hours of flight instruction (Reduced to 30 hours if you hold a night rating)
  • Pass a 170A, pretest assesment
  • Pass a CPL(H) Skill Test with a CAA authorised examiner

Once you're licenced, you will be able to enjoy working as a commercial pilot in various and exciting jobs.
